Privacy policy

This is a working draft pending legal review. The summary below reflects the data we actually collect and how we use it; the formal policy will be published before public launch.

What we collect

When you create an account we store your email address, display name, and any profile information you choose to provide (avatar, bio, social links). When you upload music or video as an artist, we store the audio/video files, cover art, and metadata you supply.

When you listen to or watch content we record the play (with the track or video id, your country, and timestamp) so we can surface what's trending, calculate artist payouts, and improve the recommendations. We do not record exact location.

How we use it

• To run the platform — sign you in, deliver content, take payments.
• To send transactional emails (sign-up confirmations, password resets, takedown notices) and, if you opt in, the newsletter.
• To compile aggregate analytics — most-played tracks, country breakdowns, growth — never individually identifying you to anyone outside the team.

Who we share it with

• Supabase hosts our database, auth, and file storage.
• Vercel serves the website.
• Mux transcodes and streams video.
• Cloudflare R2 stores audio originals.
• Resend delivers transactional + newsletter email.
• Stripe / WiPay / PayPal handle payments (when monetisation ships).
• PostHog records aggregate product analytics.Sentry records errors. Both are configured to drop personally identifying fields where possible.

We do not sell or rent your data to advertisers. Local-business ads on the platform are non-targeted and do not receive your data.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a small number of analytics cookies for product metrics. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can update or delete your account from the dashboard at any time. To request a copy of your data or to ask us to erase it completely, email privacy@newwaveborn.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
